    Sustainable Sweden Eco-Municipality Study Tour

    We are pround to announce the next Sustainable Sweden Eco-municipality Tour in 2008. Starting in Stockholm we will travel all around Sweden, to the very north of the country . We will meet, learn, explore and contribute to many of the pioneers of local sustainable development in Sweden. You will get a unique chance to learn from the very best “firesouls” in the world - how did and are they making a sustainable society possible?

    The Tour includes participating on the first International Eco-municpality Conference.
    Meet the history and the future of the Swedish Eco-municipality movement. You will meet the founders of the movement as well as their latest projects.

     First international Eco-Municipality  Conference

    GreenZone — a unique business park development that takes an ecocyclic approach to design and operation. GreenZone was developed with a holistic view that endeavors to conserve natural resources within the building sector without compromising function or comfort. GreenZone’s principal architect,Anders Nyquist, will tell us all about the ground-breaking process of designing and building GreenZone (where, for example, every construction worker was trained in the Natural Step framework before construction began) and about the sustainable technologies used at GreenZone.

    Itinerary & Programme

    The Tour constitutes of two parts, one northern and one souther part. You are able to go on both and get a broader picture of Swedish experiences and examples or only on one part to get a shorter and cheaper tour. In the pdf you will more information about the places we will go to and what to expect.

    Brief Itinerary: 

    • May 17th: Arrival, Stockholm
    • May 18-19th: Umeå
    • May 20th: Robertsfors
    • May 21st: Stockholm (last day of northern Tour)
    • May 22nd: Stockholm (new arrivals southern tour)
    • May 23rd: Järna
    • May 24th-25th: Falkenberg
    • May 26th: Helsingborg
    • May 27-29th: Helsingborg — International Eco-Municipality Conference
    • May 30th: Departure

    Northern Tour: 17 500 SEK.
    Southern Tour: 32 000 SEK incl. conference
    Both Tours 48 000 SEK incl. conference 
    Currency
    The currency in Sweden is the Swedish Krona, SEK. The approximate change rate in February 2008 were:
    USD 1 = 6,45 SEK
    100 SEK = USD 15.5
    Deadline for payment
    Deadline for final payment is April 11th 2008. A deposit fee is to be paid no later than 13th of March 2008. The deposit fee is 20% of the total cost.
