We are delighted to share with you the program for the upcoming tour!

Sustainable Sweden Association is providing an opportunity to visit Sweden for inspiration and learning. From May 10 to 18, we will travel through Sweden to explore sustainable communities and initiatives. You will have the chance to learn more about the ecomunicipality concept in theory and practice, through study visits, presentations and workshops around sustainability. This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge, expand your network and exchange experiences.

All meals and accommodations are included.

Train from Kastrup/Copenhagen to Karlskrona.

Introduction to Sweden, municipalities and the concept behind eco-municipalities.

Karlskrona
Blekinge Institute of Technology, (BTH). Karlskrona, the headquarters of the National Association of Swedish Eco-municipalities, SEKOM. Karlskrona’s Ecomunicipality program.
Tue 5
Västervik

Travel to Västervik, a water-shortage zone in Scandinavia in a changing climate. Energy is a theme here. Discover sustainable municipal housing and learn about climate protection measures that prevent drought and torrential rain. Presentation of the unique collaboration between the Ecomunicipality and farmers.

Wed 6
Västervik

Study visits: Recirculation of nutrition, limitation of eutrophication, access to water, and biodiversity.

Travel to Åland

Thu 7
Åland
At the Parliament, we will learn more about this unique “country”, one of the oldest autonomies in the world. How they work with a cultural value transformation towards a sustainable society.

Fri 8  – Åland

Presentations and study visits with choices to learn about social empowerment and sustainable consumption, food and fish production, biological diversity (water, wetland) or sustainable banking.

Sat 9 – Stockholm

Travel to Stockholm. Study visit in Stockholm –History and sustainability.
Reflect on your experiences. Final dinner and end of the tour.

Sun 10 –  Stockholm Travel home!
